Sustainable gin thanks to innovative solutions

It's the mission of Solar Gin to send out a positive message about sustainability: we developed a new technology, creating a high quality and handcrafted product. Solar Gin can be produced solely using the heat of the sun, without the use of any fossil fuels. To produce 1 litre of gin using a copper pot still about 4 kWh is consumed, which is a lot of energy you can save by drinking Solar Gin. With the energy saved by 1 bottle of Solar Gin we can light up your living room for 3 consecutive days!

Innovation leads to aroma improvement!

Solar Gin's pallet is unique and so is its process, as our distilling only uses solar heat. To optimally use this solar energy, our master distiller designed and built his installation by hand. The mobile device enables us to distil everywhere and follow the direction of the sun, using all possible precious energy. We can use about 60% of the energy the rays of sunlight contain, which is about 3 times more than the best photovoltaic panel on the market. We developed this technology to make the installation compact, mobile and easy to scale.

The next hurdle our inventor had to take was the development of a special copper still. The heat of the sun is less concentrated compared to open flame or electrical heating. Developing a still which could handle low contact temperatures brought along an enormous taste difference in the final product which is noticed by connoisseurs from all over the world: due to the low temperature distilling, less oxidation of botanicals and extracted flavours can occur. This results in a gin soft as silk with intense flavours, enabling you to enjoy the taste of pure sunshine!
